Cynomys is an innovative startup that provides integrated IoT solutions for professional indoor and outdoor monitoring. We create custom made, flexible and innovative solutions to meet every business need with the aim of increasing productivity, improving the quality of life and the environment.
Our solutions allow us to monitor and analyse more than 30 chemical-physical parameters in real time such as air quality, water quality, energy consumption, water consumption. They additionally allow us to control any pre-existing equipment on the premises we monitor. Our devices are used in different sectors: factories, offices, livestock farms.
Livestock farming is exactly where our core business is focused.
Cynomys is the first company to have patented an IoT solution for monitoring environmental parameters in the stable. We have developed a self-contained device that allows to control all parameters that affect animal welfare and productivity through our cloud platform.
By 2050, there will be over 9 billion people on the planet and the demand for food will increase significantly. In order to secure a place in this global market, farmers and breeders will have to adapt their production practices to the changing food ethics of consumers, who are becoming increasingly attentive to the quality of what they eat. It will also be essential for farmers and animal breeders to evolve towards methods that reduce their environmental impact while keeping their productivity high, as in the coming decades the effect of climate change on food security will be unequivocal. To meet these challenges, the livestock sector will have to increasingly rely on technological innovations that allow it to increase productivity, reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, improve animal health, and reduce the incidence of disease and mortality while using less drugs.
We are the promoters of these changes and for this reason we collaborate with AIA (Italian Breeders Association), DQA (Department of Agri-food Quality) and RINA Agro-quality (Society for Agri-food Certification). Together, we will develop a certification protocol for virtuous farms, GreenFarm.
There is no certification process to date that combines animal welfare standards and quantifies the emissions that are harmful to the environment. However, in a world that is increasingly attentive to environmental issues and the living conditions of farm animals, the regulations governing production processes in animal husbandry are increasingly restrictive.
A recent study by the Food Marketing Institute has shown that 44% of consumers require detailed information on how the food they buy is produced; about 43% want to know how the products have been treated, whether they are organic, GMO or preservative-free. Yet, 75% do not trust what is on the label.
The Greenfarm certified label will provide industry players with a tool to turn the above challenges into opportunities, improving products and increasing profit, and will also provide consumers with key information about the entire supply chain.

By investing in Cynomys you will be part of the zootechnics revolution towards a more sustainable and competitive livestock sector.
We are already present in 3 countries and have established international partnerships with a tested and validated service. Since November 2018 we have been supplying our devices to the Farm of the Future project promoted by the Neovia group (France), part of the American giant ADM. We collaborate with the Institute for French Livestock Farming, IDELE, for the environmental monitoring of their experimental stables. We have been involved in industry meetings for the digitisation of livestock farming organized by IRTA, the Catalan Institute for Research and Technology for Agrifood (Spain).
On a national level, we have provided our devices to the University of Parma, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, in an experimental project to improve air quality in Parma Ham Consortium‘s farms.
Use of proceeds
The funds raised will be used to expand our research laboratory, obtain Accredia certification and start developing two new products: a milk testing product and a feed testing product.
All of these initiatives will allow us to reduce production costs, to continue the development of our devices and to expand our commercial offer in Italy and abroad.
